telling a story, little by little

A Christian?

Just a small part of what I believe, and why i call myself a Christian:

  • I believe in a God, who created the world that we live in, who is sovereign and created us. (Genesis 1)
  • I believe he created us ‘in his own image’ (Genesis 1:27)
  • I believe that being ‘in his image’  we were perfect, however through the fall of man (Genesis 3) we are all sinners, condemned to death because of the sin that we have committed.
  • I believe in Jesus, as both God and man, King and servant, saviour and friend. (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John)
  • I believe that through Jesus’ sacrifice on the cross and the grace he offers, I am free from all sin that I have and will commit.
  • I believe that because of that grace i have been granted eternal life and will spend eternity in the presence of  the same God that created me. (John 3:16 to name just one)

  1. I don’t want to get into a religious argument, but you seem like a really nice person, and I really want to know what you think of the LGTB community – do you have a problem with them? What exactly do you think of same-sex couples and people who change their sex?

I’m Jewish, and I believe in God – but I don’t think they are sinners. I hope you believe in something similiar.

    • Thank you. You seem like a lovely person too. I have no problem with the LGBT community, after all they are still people, created by a God who loves them. However, they are sinners (as are we all) and I feel that the bible is very blunt on this issue. God created man and woman to be in relationship with each other, in Genesis it says they were created for companionship. And in the New Testament it is even more clear (http://bible.us/1Cor6.9.NIV84)

But through all this we need to remember that God hates the sin, and most certainly not the sinner. For God loves the entire world, Jew or otherwise and after all he created us in his very own image.

      Does that answer your question?
